Lotus Primary Care was founded in 2025, by Dr. Matthew Libby
Our Mission Statement
Lotus Primary Care provides comprehensive, whole-person, Direct Primary Care for
year-round and seasonal residents of Cape Cod.
Our Vision: the lotus symbol
The lotus was chosen for its association with rebirth and regeneration: the flower grows up out of the mud and blossoms. Primary care, and healthcare in general, has been increasingly “muddied” by third parties inserting themselves between patients and caregivers.
I worked for many years to understand, navigate, and improve this system from within, but it has only continued to become more unsustainable.
Eventually, I adopted the growing Direct Primary Care model, with the vision of truly allowing person-centered primary health care to “blossom” on Cape Cod.

Practice philosophy
Dr. Libby has been living and practicing on Cape Cod since 2015, caring for people of all ages and backgrounds. He strives to understand each person as an individual, meet them where they are, and help guide them toward achieving their own health goals in a way that is safe, realistic, and sustainable.
Utilizing both holistic and conventional, evidence-based medical perspectives, Dr. Libby provides primary, preventive, and episodic care, manages chronic conditions, and performs many office procedures such as skin biopsies, joint injections, and uncomplicated laceration repairs.
As an Osteopathic physician, Dr. Libby can incorporate Osteopathic Treatment for patients who are interested.
